Alumni Association

The BCHS Alumni Association was formed on October 6, 2001 for the purpose of, but not limited to,
Foster the continuing spirit of tradition, loyalty and camaraderie among the Association Members.
Sponsor Association Social Events.
Locate prospective Members and inviting them to participate in the Association.
Advise and promote individual Class Reunion Committees.
To raise funds for the Alumni Scholarship Fund.
Have fund-raisers or assist in fund-raisers to raise funds for the Belle Chasse Community, whether it is for schools, an individual, or any charity that the Association Members deem fitting.

The Alumni has many social and fund-raising activities each year, including the Spring Fling and the Fall Fest where we get together to pass a good time. The Annual Golf Tournament and the Annual St. Patty's Day Party, both held in Belle Chasse to name a few.

The BCHS Alumni is open to anyone who attended high school as a student at Belle Chasse High School regardless of the number of years they attended. It is also open to this student’s parents & children, present & former faculty, administrators & employees of the school system, and to parents who have children in the Junior High, Middle, Primary or Elementary Schools that feed into BCHS. All who are interested in joining the Alumni must petition for membership using the application developed by the Board of Directors. All who are current in their dues shall be classified as a Member. All Members shall be entitled to vote in matters brought before the general membership.

Alumni Scholarship: Patty Waller - Chairperson

The BCHS Alumni awarded 5 scholarship this year at a ceremony held at Bayou Barriere Golf Club on May 12th. This scholarships are presented to Seniors of BCHS, who the committee feels is the most qualified, well rounded students. The scholarship is paid to the college, community college or trade school that the student will be attending, once they have been enrolled and accepted. The Top Scholarship winner was Amanda Altemus. Amanda will be attending LSU in Enice for Business Management and Sports Photography. She is the daughter of Rodney and Millie Altemus.

Also receiving scholarships were Kohl Thimmesch, who will be attending LSU for Mechanical Engineering. He is the son of Gaynell Thimmesch; Kyle Johnson, who will be attending LSU for Journalism. He is the son of the late Chris and Ella Johnson; Nicole Messa, who will be attending University of Louisiana in Lafayette for Biology (OBGYN). She is the daughter of Juanita Messa; and Chelsea Rachelle Cook, who will be attending LSU for Biological Sciences. She is the daughter of Judi Perlander. Congratulations to them all.

A new fund-raising year has started, which means the task of raising money for the 2012 Alumni Scholarship Fund is on its way. As an individual, you can help by sending a tax deductable donation in any amount to help fund the Alumni Scholarship. Also, If you own a business or work for a business or company that donates to non-profit organizations, please consider asking them for a tax deductable donation to the Alumni.

Donations made specifically to the Alumni Scholarship are kept separate from our general funds. Make checks payable to BCHS Alumni. Write “Alumni Scholarship Fund” on Memo line.  Mail any donations to: BCHS Alumni c/o Patty Waller, 833 Blvd. St. Germaine; Marion, AR 72364

FREE MEMBERSHIP - Join the Alumni, then get 3 others to join and get your membership free for one year. Make sure you have them place your name at the bottom of thier application.
Get together with your classmates a few times a year and have a good time while helping raise money for worthy causes.  It's only $15 per year.
